Outdoor Industry Leader Emphasizes Stonger Advocacy for the Outdoor Recreation Industry – Cites Research
Frank Hugelmeyer, of the Outdoor Industry Association of America spoke at the 2011 State Park Director’s meeting in Custer State Park ( SD ) and showed what a portion of the national economy is driven by the outdoor industry. He cited Association findings and other research that shows the scope of the industry within the economy, from the private, non profit and public facilities and areas developed and protected throughout the nation. He stated all outdoor advocates must educate themselves about these facts and promote these findings so that when political and fiscal policies and resources are prioritized, that outdoor recreation gets proper and equitable consideration.
