A Request For Immediate Attention… Fully Funding LWCF
| The following has been sent out to SLO’s referring to the need for immediate action related to the Senate deliberation and vote on S 3422, the Great American Outdoors Act which permanently funds the LWCF at the $ 900 million dollar level. Currently, states and territories are to receive a 40% share of the appropriation, so it is an important issue for the NASORLO. I was not sure that many of you were aware of this issue and of the follow request from advocacy groups related to S 3422, so I am forwarding this to all of you. The vote is on Monday June *, so if you decide to do something, it must be done without haste. Please note the key Senators.. I will keep posting information on our website, so you can monitor all these actions. We have come a long way.. have many challenges ahead.. but as you all know, this vote is important. It has been called the most meaningful federal action on conservation in a generation. We expect cloture to be filed in the Senate this week, setting up a vote on Monday June 8 at 5:30 pm. In this very difficult moment, our goal is to have it passed without amendment. The most current talking points are listed below. This landmark legislation will fully and permanently #FundLWCF – creating outdoor access for all & supporting the outdoor rec economy! The Great American Outdoors Act will fully and permanently #FundLWCF, which will expand recreation access and grow the outdoor rec economy, and #FixOurParks by investing in public land infrastructure. We need the senate to pass this bill without amendment! Urge the Senate to pass S 3422 the Great American Outdoors Act to invest in outdoor recreation access for hunters and anglers, working forests, clean water, and infrastructure on our public America is blessed with great outdoors but not everyone has access to these special places.
